A Victorian house that needed general renovation and expansion.
The project included planning, construction and general renovation and, of course, the design and styling of the entire house. The family, numbering 5 people, asked for a bright and modern house that would contain work areas, a utility room and an open space that includes a large kitchen, dining area and family corner.
In a joint decision with the customers, we have preserved some of the original features of the house like the tiles floor in the entrance and the cornice works in the ceiling which preserves the Victorian charm and creates an interesting combination of old and new.
Muswell Hill House
A lovely young family approached me to help transform their new home. The brief was a light renovation, refinishing floors, updating walls, and fully styling the ground floor, which includes a kitchen with a sitting area, dining area, and a family/TV space. The original layout felt like a long, dark, and cold corridor.
Our goal was to break it into three defined zones, each with its own cosy, inviting atmosphere. We brightened the space by sanding and lightening the floor, painting the walls in soft neutrals with bold accent colours to add character where needed. We styled the entire space with designer furniture, bespoke pieces, layered lighting, textiles, and carefully selected artwork and accessories to reflect the owners’ love of colour and creativity. The result is a vibrant, warm-coloured, and welcoming family home.
TESTIMONIALS
Tamar helped us design and decorate the ground floor in our new home. Our goal was to have a home that felt light, warm, and sophisticated, without being heavy or busy—and she absolutely delivered. She took our tastes and preferences (modern, Nordic, boho, Mediterranean ) and combined them beautifully. The space is now stylish yet perfect for relaxing and entertaining, and it truly feels like us. Highly recommend!
