A Victorian house that needed general renovation and expansion.
The project included planning, construction and general renovation and, of course, the design and styling of the entire house. The family, numbering 5 people, asked for a bright and modern house that would contain work areas, a utility room and an open space that includes a large kitchen, dining area and family corner.
In a joint decision with the customers, we have preserved some of the original features of the house like the tiles floor in the entrance and the cornice works in the ceiling which preserves the Victorian charm and creates an interesting combination of old and new.
West Finchley House
In the heart of West Finchley, a four-bedroom house embarked on a journey of renewal. This renovation, marked by thoughtful design and practicality, breathed new life into the ageing structure.
The ground floor witnessed a remarkable transformation, marked by an open-plan layout. The kitchen melded with the dining area, fostering a sense of connectivity and space. A new ground-floor bathroom, complete with a shower, catered to the needs of elderly guests, offering both convenience and comfort. A discreet under-stairs utility room emerged, further enhancing practicality without compromising aesthetics. A modern kitchen and two new bathrooms were introduced, marrying contemporary functionality with classic charm. Bespoke carpentry solutions were meticulously crafted throughout the house, a testament to the commitment to maximizing storage space and optimizing practicality. The homeowner's vision of a vibrant and playful aesthetic breathed personality into every corner of the house. This infusion of colour and character added a delightful twist to the modern design.
