A Victorian house that needed general renovation and expansion.
The project included planning, construction and general renovation and, of course, the design and styling of the entire house. The family, numbering 5 people, asked for a bright and modern house that would contain work areas, a utility room and an open space that includes a large kitchen, dining area and family corner.
In a joint decision with the customers, we have preserved some of the original features of the house like the tiles floor in the entrance and the cornice works in the ceiling which preserves the Victorian charm and creates an interesting combination of old and new.
St John's Wood Penthouse
This 220 sqm penthouse on St John’s Wood High Street, set within a Grade I listed building overlooking Regent’s Park, was completely renovated and styled to bring new life into the space while honoring its historic character.
The design embraced a boho-chic aesthetic with modern influences, combining textures, natural finishes, and eclectic accents. To brighten the interiors, which previously felt dark, we introduced colorful touches through textiles and accessories, while the flooring was sanded back and refinished in a lighter, more neutral tone, instantly creating a fresher, more open atmosphere.
A key challenge was the integration of air conditioning, as external units were not permitted. We resolved this with advanced internal units, providing discreet climate control throughout without affecting the building’s façade. The finished penthouse balances heritage charm with modern comfort, light-filled, relaxed, and stylish, offering a welcoming retreat with sweeping views across Regent’s Park.
